Luther Bernard Dunfee Memorial Scholarship

The objective of the Lancaster Pistol and Rifle Club (est. 1959) is the encouragement of organized pistol and rifle shooting, with a view toward a better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. It is the further objective and purpose to forward the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance, which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.

In line with the objective of the Lancaster Pistol and Rifle Club, the club will award a single $1,000.00 scholarship to a graduating student of either Lancaster High School, Fisher Catholic High School, or Fairfield Christian Academy to attend an institution of higher learning pursuing a published program or trade discipline.

Selection Process

The Executive Committee of the Lancaster Pistol and Rifle Club will appoint a committee consisting of a Chair and two members to evaluate the applications and select an applicant for the award. The decision of the application committee is final and is not subject to appeal.

The student selected will be granted a Junior Membership in the Lancaster Pistol and Rifle Club and will be required to attend a membership meeting to accept the scholarship.
